family photos

img_Aug_02_2004_17_46img_Aug_02_2004_29_20img_Aug_02_2004_41_26 I just thought that I would put some more pictures on here. These are pictures of the past week. We had a little party at Aunt Rhonda's house and we played cards and ate brownies. (All the women around the table)
The picture at the dinner table is of your Pappaw, Mimi Shay, Uncle Britt, Mommy, and Daddy at dinner at Red Lobster. We had a great time. Uncle Britt thinks it's weird to see me with a big belly because that was the first time he's seen me and you since June and it is now August 2.
The other picture is of your Daddy, Grandpa, Granny, and Uncle Jason. We went to visit them one night while they were staying in Mt. Pleasant, TX. They are moving this week to Tyler, TX so we will get to see them alot more because it is so close.
Hope you enjoy the pics.

So close yet so far away

img_Aug_03_2004_01_47 I can't believe that it is already over half way to your mommys' due date. On one hand, there is so much to do before November. On the other, I am so ready for you to get here. I have saved my entire two weeks of vacation time to spend with you when you are born.
You have been kicking your mommy really hard for a while now. I have felt you kick and I can't imagine what it feels like for her. Try and go easy on her. She is trying hard to work while she still can. I know you will love her so much. She is a pretty great wife and friend, so I know she will be a great mother too. It's time for bed. I love you son!

Thoughts of the Day

I am working so much with school getting started this week. Not that I'm complaining about the money that's for sure. I've got to get all the work in I can now because when you get here it's all over with. I'm gonna be with you. Today I took an hour off to get a message and boy was it worth it! It was great!! You were moving around the whole time. Hopefully it will make my back feel better because it has been hurting alot here lately with me standing on my feet so much. Tomorrow I have almost an 11 hour day and I didn't schedule a lunch so I will be beat tomorrow night. Maybe your daddy will rub my feet when I get home!

Mrs. Parker made me a homemade apple pie today and between my mom, Josh, and myself it is half gone already. It is the best thing I've ever tasted so I'm sure you're felling pretty happy right now because I am.

I teach a Wednesday night class at church for ages 8-12. Sometimes there is a large group of about 15 or so...and sometimes there are only about 7 just depending on the week. Tonight we (Aunt Rhonda and Pam taught with me) split the class up into boys and girls. I had the boys. I noticed how they all laughed and played so well together and I got so excited that you are a boy. I've never had any boys that are close relatives of mine...I'm use to girls. So I have been a little worried about what we will do together. But tonight I realized that you and I will have a blast! We will have so much fun playing together. I can't wait.

Pregnancy ups and downs

I wanted to just put down a few of the things that are going on right now with this pregnancy. Talking to other women, it seems that you forget what you feel while you're pregnant after the child is born.
First of all, I love that you are inside me and growing and doing so well. But at the same time I wish that it was time for you to be born. I am almost 26 weeks and I can't hardly stand it anymore. Sometimes when I breathe in really deep I feel like there is no room for the air that is coming in. I honestly feel as if I might pop. And I've got much farther to grow. I have also lost my memory. Well, short term memory at least. There are times when I can't even finish a sentence for thinking..."what am I talking about?" This may be from talking to women in the shop all day and having to carry on so many conversations in one day, but whatever the culpret, it's getting to me. I have also started being able to get up a little bit better in the mornings. At the first part of my pregnancy I was So tired. But now I feel pretty good most of the time. My eye sight has gotten a little bit worse but that could be from not wearing my glasses enough in say....10 years.
There are some things that pregnant women experience that I, however, have not experienced with you. Some women's feet grow a shoe size. Or their nose gets larger. These things haven't happened to me yet. I don't have stretch marks or moodiness. I do get emotional and cry at the drop of a hat but while I'm crying I'm laughing because it is so silly. My sense of smell isn't too hightened like some pregnant women's. Apparently they can sniff out anything. Best of all, I haven't been very sick. Hardly any morning sickness, not even enough to mention and that is wonderful when you're a working woman.
All in all this is a great pregnancy and I'm loving every minute that I can feel you. The other day you jumped when the air conditioner came on and it was the cutest thing! I can't imagine how entertaining you'll be when you're actually here.
I love you.

making room for baby

img_Aug_12_2004_42_20 Today I bought the paint to go in your room. It is light blue and it is beautiful. Your daddy took down the guest bed because we have to make room for your crib. I'm going to have a garage sale with Mandi and get rid of alot of the stuff in the guest room. Grandy painted your armoir (spelling) white and we have it here so whenever we paint the room we can move everything in. The only thing that hasn't come in yet is the rocker and your bedding. Your room's theme is going to be sailboats. It's going to be adorable. Daddy is going out of town this weekend and it is going to be very hard to keep myself from painting your room. But he says he'll do it when he gets back. We still have 14 weeks until you are due so there is no rush. We're just going to do it a peice at a time. (but I really wish we could call one of those tv makeover shows and have it done in a day or two)
I love you.

weekend fun

img_Aug_15_2004_38_28img_Aug_15_2004_50_55 This weekend Daddy went to Little Rock, AR to see a concert with Brady. He left Friday afternoon and came back Sunday around noon. I missed him very much. You and I had a full weekend with the girls. Friday night we went to the movies to see Princess Diaries 2 with Jo Jo, Ellie, Aunt Rhonda, Brianne, Michelle, Allison, and Jennifer. We had a good time. We went to Applebee's after the show. The movie was pretty good, not one you'll want to see I'm sure. It was sort-of a girl movie. A teenage girl movie but I still liked it! Then Saturday Beth Soileau was in and we went to Texarkana with Amy, Bri, Aunt Rhonda, and Jo Jo. It was fun.

27 weeks

I have another doctor's appointment this Wednesday. Last time we went to the doctor she said that there was some blood in my urine and I could have a kidney infection or even kidney stones. But this time when I go I'm sure it will all be cleared up because I do not feel like I have anything wrong with my kidneys. The only time that I have back pain is when I have been standing up all day working. If something was wrong with my kidney then it would be hurting more often. Dr. Thompson said that it wouldn't hurt you at all if I had either but to drink lots of water. I have been drinking lots of water and cranberry juice. We'll see when we go Wednesday but I'm sure that everything is fine now! Update you then!

doctors know best

I am now 28 weeks pregnant. I went back to the doctor last week and she said that there is nothing wrong with my kidneys they look perfectly normal. But....I have to now take iron pills because my iron is low. If it's not one thing it's another! I have been getting a little sick from the iron pills in the morning but besides that they are fine. Supposedly if you have low iron it makes you tired but I feel more tired this past week since I've been taking the pills. I have felt very good this whole pregnancy so far though. A little tiredness I can handle! I also took my sugar test last week and my sugar levels are a little high so I have to go back for another test this Thursday. It is going to last 3 hours!! I have to drink some yucky orange stuff and sit there until an hour passes and take my blood. Then they'll take my blood twice more every hour. But like the kidney thing I feel sure that it will be fine because I don't have any of the symptoms of gestational diabetes. I'll just try to cut out refined sugars like cokes, cakes, candies and ice cream (which I just noticed all start with c) for the rest of this pregnancy.

Daddy took this picture at the doctor's office.

img_Aug_23_2004_15_23 We had such a good weekend this weekend. We went to Nana and Papa's house in Daisy, AR. We got to see Austin for the first time in about a month and a half and he is SO cute!! Here are some pictures.

24 August 2004

a sea of blue

Your room is starting to come together. Well...the walls are anyway! We painted the nursery and it is so cute. All four walls are blue! At first I didn't think it was going to be the blue I wanted it to be but now it looks great! I guess it had to dry to turn the color I wanted. We will put your crib up as soon as we get a telephone outlet in the office room. We've had the computer in the nursery and we are going to make an office in the room downstairs so we will have to put a phone jack there. And daddy can't do without his computer! So when we get the computer moved we can move in your crib and dresser and side table. And I already have most of the things to go on the wall. All I'm waiting on now is the glider I ordered (which should be in pretty soon) and I still have to order the bedding. I'm just ready for you to get here!
I love you.

26 August 2004

All is well

img_Aug_26_2004_01_27 I went today for my follow up test to check and see if I have gestational diabetes. I got there at 8:00 and didn't leave until 12:00. My first sugar test came back with high sugar levels so I had to take this second one. When I got there they drew blood and had to send it downstairs to get the results. If it was over 115 I didn't have to take the test because that would mean that I have the diabetes for sure. My results came back at 90. So I had to drink this nasty really sweet orange drink and wait an hour then take my blood. I had to take my blood another two times at each hour. Needless to say my arms are a little sore. But the good news is I do not have the gestational diabetes. Obviously, she said that I had eaten or drank something sweet the night before the first test and it hadn't exited my system yet and messed up the readings. I'm very happy with the results. The only harm it would do during pregnancy is it would have made me have a big baby (10-12 lbs). Which would have been hard to deliver. And almost half of the women that have gestational diabetes develop diabetes later in life so for both of these reasons I am excited that I don't have it. So for all the women who are pregnant....when it comes time to take the sugar test, don't drink any juice or eat anything sweet within 24 hours or you'll be sitting at the doctor's office for 4 hours. And believe me it is very boring! =)
