4 Months Old

bumbo and toy play timeimg_Oct_09_2007_47_45rolling alongooh...FEET!!he does not like being on his tummyat the doctor visit Brennon, you were 4 months old yesterday...4 MONTHS OLD!  I can't believe it!!  It honestly seems like I was just posting your 3 month update.  My goodness does time fly!  I took you for your 4 month checkup at the doctor's office today and you did great until it was time for shots and you only cried for a minute.  You weigh 15.9 1/2 pounds - 50%, are 26 inches long - 80%, and I don't remember your head's numbers but it was in the 25%.  You are really fascinated by your feet right now.  You love your bumbo seat, I usually sit something in front of you while you're sitting in it (like the toy in the picture) and you'll sit and play for a long time.  You love Bryce and your daddy.  You smile all the time and laugh when I tickle your stomach and sides.  You are still exclusively breastfed without any baby food or rice cereal, but I think we're going to try rice cereal at night time pretty soon. You're such a joy!  We love you!

Mr. Imagination

Bryce, you are Mr Inagination these days.  You play pretend all the time.  Most of the time you will tell me you are petting puppies (imaginary ones of course), but sometimes you'll tell me you are on your way to see friends or that you're at the farm with the animals.  It is so cute to watch you play.  You have such big opinions about what you should wear these days too!  The other day you dressed yourself and your Daddy took a picture, it was hillarious - you had on your heavy winter coat and what you call "cowboy" boots.  You are also getting really good at your picture taking skills.  These are some pictures I found on the camera after I caught you taking pictures this weekend.  You were obviously watching two of your favorite shows "Hannah Montana" and "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody".  Too funny!!!

Baker's Man

cooking tacosa cookie handfun cookiesthe proud chefLook what I made Bryce really enjoys helping me cook (and clean) these days!  So yesterday we got really creative and used 4 different colored cookie doughs to make some fun cookies!  He did such a great job!  (Mommy helped of course)  He decided what he wanted to make and what colors we should use where!  He's also helped me make  regular everyday meals.  This week included tacos, pizza, and sandwiches (not quite gourmet but what do you expect?!)  He loves putting grated cheese on things...and eating a little as we go!  It takes a lot longer to cook with his help and the cleaning has to go far beyond the normal areas but it's worth it!
P.S. And yes, the baking sheets have had lots of use, but don't you know that the food tastes better when they're worn in! ;)

My Poor Baby

Sweet boy! Brennon, you have been sick since we got back from Dallas!  That was like 6 weeks ago!  First you had a cold, then an ear infection, then congestion, and now you're wheezing!  I am one of those people that doesn't even think that people really need tylenol.  I am very against most medicines but I also know that it is necessary to medicate certain illnesses so that they don't get worse!  So, to my dismay you have been on a round of amoxicilin and cefzil (both antibiotics), inhaled pulmicort (a steroid), inhaled Albuterol, and are currently on another round of the inhaled Albuterol.  All of these medicines over a 6 week period.  Is this crazy to anyone but me?!!  They've done 2 chest x-rays to rule out pneumonia and it is apparently a upper respiratory virus.  I am praying that this will be your last round of meds for a very long time.  You have had no fever and seem to feel fine (except when it's 4:00 in the morning and you want me to hold you - of course you sleep like a log but mommy can't sleep sitting up!)  You don't look ill but I hate that at such a young age you've already been on so many meds!  The doctor did assure me however that you will be much stronger for it in the future! She just thinks that big brother keeps bringing things home from school that he's immune to but it affects you!  So, I just ask that everyone pray with me for a speedy and COMPLETE recovery!!

Mommy and Daddy's Night Out

img_Oct_28_2007_52_58 Well, last night we went out for our first night without either of the children!  They stayed with my Aunt Karen and Uncle Larry.  They did great until the end of the night but that was no problem because we were only 3 minutes away!  Right down the road is a safe way to go out!  It was a fun time but I was thinking about my little muffins the whole time!  I'm going to cut the cord one day!  I promise Josh!
On another note - Brennon is all better and feeling great! The only problem is that he is now waking up 1 or 2 times a night. We'll cross our fingers that that will change soon!
